In researching healthy alternatives to store-bought, traditional pet “foods”, I’ve come across this site: The Healthy Pet Gourmet. You’re in luck if you live in Manhattan. They deliver there! Hopefully the owner, Christie, will develop a way to deliver by mail; she’s put alot of research and care into her pet foods. Another interesting site is Healthy Paws. They also sell nutritionally-sound pet food. Both sites discuss what is actually healthy food for pets. The difference between that and what’s generally available at the supermarket is shocking. Cats and dogs need very little grains and vegetables but lots of protein, including bones, and also animal fats.

I’m continuing to look for cohesive healthy pet food recipes. If you have some, please share them here. I’m happy to link back to your site!
