Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe

Marinated chicken or tofu which is then baked and served in a delicious savory sauce.  Fabulous!  From Sohan’s Indian Delights.  The spices are excellent for our health.

You could use firm tofu cubes instead of chicken.Chicken Tikka Masala

  • 2 cups plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • pinch of cloves powder
  • pinch of cardamom powder
  • 2 pounds chicken, boneless, cut into medium pieces
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seed
  • 1 cup of cream

Mix the first 7 spices with the yogurt and marinate chicken pieces for at least 4 hours. After that, place in the oven and cook 45 minutes at 350 degrees. In oil, brown tomatoes and cumin seed, then add cream. Add baked chicken pieces and cook 10 minutes more, stirring occasionally. Serve with basmati rice.
