Saint Joseph, Patron of Families and Workers

Saint Joseph, Patron of Families and Workers

Today is St. Joseph’s Day!  I’m neither Catholic nor Orthodox, so it’s not a day that I knew about until a friend posted a little message on Facebook.  But I have recently been introduced to St. Joseph as an ascended helper, and he is awesome.

St. Joseph is Mother Mary’s husband, “step” daddy to Jesus.  He is the role model for fathers, the protectors and providers of their families.  In fact, many Catholic countries celebrate today as Father’s Day.  Some people count on him to help sell their homes, and pray to him to receive help in providing them with food and other aspects of survival.
