Improve Your Mood with These Food Tips

Keep your blood sugar balanced. Avoid foods loaded in sugars, like soda, donuts, sweetened coffees, cakes, and cookies.

Apple slices with peanut butter are a great snack — apple has natural sugars, which are better for balancing your blood sugar, plenty of fiber, and peanut butter has lots of protein in it, which will help to balance and stabilize your blood sugar.

Eat every 4 - 5 hours, or more frequently if your blood sugar still wavers.

Omega-3s help to beat depression. EPA and DHA are best found in oily fish, like wild salmon and mackerel. The body absorbs these forms of omega-3s easily. Ground flax seed, walnuts, and eggs are also good, but have different forms of omega-3s which are not as easily absorbed. if you want to try supplements, stick with a reputable brand, look for EPA and DHA and make sure they total at least 650 milligrams. Psychiatrists are starting to look at using high doses to combat depression.

Eat lots of leafy greens like spinach, swiss chard, and also eat soybeans to get your extra folic acid.

It is wonderful that we have so many alternative answers to creating wellness other than drugs. Being able to help ourselves feel better by understanding foods is a bonus.
